Survivor Waivers

In previous years, Survivors were asked to present a separate note from a medical professional. This is no longer the case. Survivors are not required to present a separate waiver to compete. The waiver on Active.com or SH7 Registration form is required.

Race start & finish

Both races are out and back races starting at the Canton Water Front Park. (see directions). The race will include the Inner Harbor, Inner Harbor East, Fells Point and Canton and conclude at the Canton Water Front Park in Canton.

The Course

The course is USATF certified #MD06002JS.
The course is urban, flat and includes a few tight turns across the bridges on the promenade. There are a few crossing on cobblestone (in Fells Point + Inner Harbor East) so be careful (wheelchairs may have alternative routes). The courses will also be led by bicycles and motorcycles to ensure no wrong turns and safety.
The course will be clearly marked with cones and volunteers.
***Wheelers – Please attend a pre-race meeting on race day to address difficult areas on the course. The meeting will be held at race day registration at 6:30AM at Can Company (race start).

Course restrictions
  • No strollers unless racing strollers (or approved), head sets, dogs, iPods or bikes are permitted on the course.
  • Please be courteous of volunteers and police, they are there to keep you safe. No abuse of any kind will be tolerated.
  • If the weather calls for extremely hot conditions will add another water stop at a location to be determined. If you require additional hydration, please plan to carry it with you.
  • All persons on the course are required to register for the race. All pacers, family members and friends are asked to register if you plan to run with anyone.
  • Timing/Numbers
  • The 7-mile and 4-mile events will be chip timed.
  • Your chip will be available to you at packet pick up and MUST be worn on your ankle and returned at the finish line if you would like an official time.
  • All runners should pick up their chip no later than 6:30am.
  • You will be charged $30 if your chip is not returned.
  • All runners/walkers will receive a number. The Survivor category will wear blue numbers and open category will wear green. No other distinction will be made between the two divisions.
  • Race categories & awards

    7-Mile
    Cash awards for the 7-mile race in the following categories:
    Men’s open (1st-3rd)
    Women’s open (1st-3rd)
    Survivor men (1st-3rd)
    Survivor women (1st-3rd)
    Masters men open & Survivor (1st only)
    Masters women open & Survivor (1st only)
    Awards will be given to the 7 mile race for age groups of 1st-3rd in each gender. Age categories will be in increments of 10 years in the open and survivor categories.

    4-Mile

    Awards will be given to the top 3 male and female finishers in the open, Survivor, wheelchair and prosthetic divisions. No cash awards.

    Pepsi/PVA Wheelchair Championship

    All cash and awards will be contingent upon number of entries. The race organizers will announce the categories at the PVA social, Saturday night. We anticipate the following awards:

    Wheelchair Push Rim men (1st-3rd)
    Wheelchair Push Rim women (1st-3rd)
    Wheelchair Hand cranks men & women (1st-3rd)
    Wheelchair Hand cranks women (1st-3rd)

    Medical Assistance

    Safety first! Should you need medical attention on the course, please contact any volunteer or bike rider. Emergency medical service will also be provided at the race village. Volunteers will be instructed to call 911.

    Participant Premium:
    Free Survivor Harbor 7 “Sock Guy” socks. A performance shirt may be purchased (not required) when you register for $15.00. Both premiums may be picked up at packet pick-up.

    Photography

    Chessie Photography will be on site taking all runners pictures during the race. Make sure you race number is visible on the front side of your body. You will be contacted after the race to see if you would like to purchase the shots.

    Post Race Village

    The village will have entertainment, race awards, merchandise sales, refreshments, Pepsi sampling and vendor exhibits.

    Viewing

    Runner families may view the race anywhere along the course however we recommend the Post Race Village finish line as the best place to see runners. Runners will pass the village before finishing.
